079 New Beginning Liaison (19-20 school year)

General Description:

New Beginnings is an inventive behavioral program. The New Beginnings person will monitor students and provide instruction with interventions. This job is for the grant period only position.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and maintain a safe and comfortable environment conducive to learning in the New Beginnings room/location.
  • Provide academic tutoring and supervision of students during the length of the student's assignment to New Beginnings.
  • Engage students in goal setting to help bring about a change in student behavior, with the support of the counselor, social worker, and principal.
  • Leading small groups in examining behaviors and coping mechanisms and understanding reasons of behavior.
  • Support students with changing behavior through appropriate decision-making and social skills.
  • Manage a caseload, track and monitor behavior to determine effectiveness of the program.
  • All other duties and tasks deemed necessary by the school administration.

Work Schedule:  School year only, 5.75  hours a day, Monday through Friday

Reports to:  Building Principal, unless otherwise noted


  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 60 college credit hours or equivalent
  3. Previous experience working with students.  Desire to make a positive difference and be a positive influence in students' lives.  Understanding and experience in an educational setting. A positive employment history and recommendation from a previous supervisor.
