348 Receptionist Category I Classification C

Reports To:                                       Building principal, unless otherwise noted

Work Schedule:                               7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 42 weeks per school calendar year

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Switchboard operator.
  • Receptionist's duties.
  • Greet and assist all incoming visitors
  • Check-in all visitors utilizing the Raptor system
  • Provide coverage for the Assistant Attendance Secretary when need (including phone calls and issuing passes)
  • Handle outgoing and incoming US Mail and interoffice mail, distribute accordingly
  • Responsible for the copy machine and fax machine (ie, supply orders, paper, etc.)
  • Distribute any incoming faxes accordingly
  • Collect material from teachers at the end of the year.
  • Other duties as assigned by the building principals.
  • Assist other secretaries as needed

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General office skills (able to operate all office machines and type)
  • Must maintain a calm, patient and  understanding demeanor at all times
  • Pleasant manner in answering phones and meeting visitors
  • Ability to retain confidential information
  • Ability to communicate with all staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google

Salary and Benefits

 Payment Type:                  $10.44 per hour
