Safe Harbor programs ENGAGE students during out of school time to ENRICH their lives and EMPOWER them to work to their potential.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Display enthusiasm for the learning process, including participation in professional development classes
  • Contribute in the effort to involve parents in the student’s educational progress
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment
  • Meet attendance requirements and standards as set forth in the Safe Harbor programs handbook.

Basic Responsibilities

  • Participate in Club Discovery team planning meetings to address opportunities and concerns.
  • Responsible for classroom and student behavior management

Specific Duties

  • Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to assist with tutoring, academic assistance and test preparation. Document and track improvement.
  • Work with all staff to provide an environment where students can feel relaxed and have fun while learning.
  • Keep up to date with school academic requirements, academic testing schedules, school programs and opportunities.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Site Coordinator.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Previous experience working with students.  Desire to make a positive difference and be a positive influence in student's lives.  Understanding and experience in an educational setting.  A positive employment history and recommendations from a previous supervisor. 
  • Physical ability to engage in the cultivation of student’s academic success.
  • State and local employment requirements: background check, viewing of “Blood Borne Pathogens” video and review of MCAS Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Plan.

Salary and Benefits

  • $9.10/per hour
  • 4 hours per day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
  • 36 weeks
  • No benefits
